cornfu > day 152: "any MORE stupid questions?"
cornfu > day 142: "tatooine". trying to break the slump of standard shots. i decided to do some compositing with photoshop. of course my son thought this was great! photo'd my boy and the droids in the same angle of sunlight and did some post work to make it look blown out alien desert-style! now my other kids want in on the action!
cornfu > day 131: "right eye dominate". i shot some quick photos of yet another abandoned company off of exit 19 on 295 but wasn't feeling the results. then i got the spark to do some eye shots combining my kids. what a pain in the butt to get a clean, crisp shot using the macro when aiming at 2 giggling kids. i had some almost crisp shots of my daughter's brown eye against my son's gray/blue eye but favored the one where my daughter is breaking into laughter and my son is getting ready to break... you can see it in his eye! i will revisit this shot in the future.
cornfu > day 267. squirrels love pumpkin. i KNOW halloween is past but this scene keeps getting creepier by the day! the squirrels have been chowing down on pumpkin head and the aftermath is rather cool. it's days are numbered!
cornfu > day 96: memorial day. for today's photo i snagged my boys' G.I. Joe toys thinking of how they play openly with minimal fear in a free country paid for with the blood of selfless heros. to think of the pain a parent has to endure as they lay a child to rest after giving the ultimate for a sometimes thankless country. the tears can never fill the void. as i see the sun reflect off the faces of my children playing in our yard i am indeed deeply thankful for those who took the call to defend our great nation. God give me the strength if my children one day decide to answer the call and set self aside. no matter what the media says i know my country is great and blessed and does the best it can. john stewart doesn't speak for me. thank you to the parents who gave their children so that my children would know only peace. for what it is worth, it isn't lost on my family.

alternate photos are here.
cornfu > day 201: happy labor day! my poor attempt at imitating the "rosie the riveter" poster (produced by Westinghouse for the War Production, created by J. Howard Miller). i was going to use the same color scheme of yellow background and blue overalls but was lazy on labor day! not to mention the overalls that i have are olive drab and about 10 sizes too big for my daughter. for the lapel i faked a westinghouse electric service badge. the work badges had a photo of that employee and a four digit i.d. number.
cornfu > day 199: "live long and prosper... whilst writing on yourself with marker". my daughter has decreased her carbon footprint by using herself as a canvas instead of using paper.
cornfu > day 167: "doodle". working up some loose sketches to warm up for an illustration i have to do of a coworker. relaxing. an easy, lazy shot for tonight.
cornfu > day 123: "father's pride". i am guilty of putting more into my day job than my kids' future... but every once in a while i wake up to realize how blessed i am to have such awesome kids. here the crew is watching "pirates of the caribbean - at world's end". i staged the dog pile. i had about 2 minutes to climb a step ladder and shoot before son #1 on the bottom protested lack of air. next up we are watching napoleon dynamite and eating fresh oatmeal cookies! today is a great day!
